| Dear user
This book has been designed to allow an absolute beginner to Microsoft Access
Database to:
Access is a brilliant program for this purpose, as it only requires a few button clicks to:
As you work your way through the book you will be shown how to:
Working with dummy data like this will enable you see what is going on and then be able to substitute the data and ideas with your own,
in order to achieve the result you are looking for.
This book was written for my students as part of a course I teach at
College. It should be very easy to understand by people of all age groups and computer ability levels. To use this book you will need a copy of Microsoft Access 97 or later, installed on your computer. The images shown in the book are taken from Access 2000 and will vary from version to version, but it's only really the shape and position of some of the buttons. There are many ways of doing the same thing in Access. The methods shown in the book may not necessarily be the quickest or best, but they are the easiest to explain to a beginner. So, if you already know better ways of doing certain things, please use them as you work through the book.
I have used the filename Mail Merge ltd so those of you that have already used my Mail Merge book may already have a file on your hard drive with this name, if this is the case you may want to put the database into a different folder or call it something else.
