How to create Italian Mixed Salad
Ingredients

2 slices of white bread cut 1 cm 1/2 inch thick remove crusts
50g 2oz margarine or butter (4 tablespoons)
1 halved garlic clove
1 lettuce ripped into pieces
1 small onion sliced into thin rings
25g 1oz of grated parmesan cheese (1/4 cup)
50g 2oz mushrooms sliced (1/2 cup)
175g 6oz cooked ham diced (3/4 cup)
1 x 50g 2oz can of anchovy fillets drained Dressing 4 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, pepper and salt to suit your own personal taste Method for
Italian Mixed Salad:-
Cut the bread into 1cm 1/2 inch thick cubes. Melt the butter or margarine in a frying pan (skillet), add the bread cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides. Drain the croutons onto some kitchen roll and leave to cool. Rub the inside of a salad bowl with the cut surfaces of the garlic, then discard the garlic completely. Place the lettuce, onions, cheese, mushrooms, ham and anchovies into the bowl and mix together. Mix together the dressing mix ingredients with pepper and salt to suit your own personal taste. Pour the dressing mix over the salad, add the croutons and shake well. Serve Immediately.
Italian mixed salad serves 4 to 6 people.
