Herpes Simplex VirusWhat is the Herpes Simplex Virus?Herpes Simplex Virus

The herpes simplex virus causes an infection.

Cold sores are created around the mouth area, this is called oral herpes and the correct cream or medication will need to be applied to ease the symptoms.

Another strain of this virus is called genital herpes; this causes problems around the anus, buttocks and genitals. This version is sexually transmitted and can be contracted by having both unprotected or oral sex.

The herpes simplex virus can break out at different times of the year and as time goes by you should get the attacks less frequently and not quite so severe.

You can also fight the virus with medicine; the correct use of condoms will also help to reduce the risk of both spreading and contracting this horrible and difficult virus.

Sometimes the symptoms will not show up in certain people, where many will get sores and blisters where the virus entered, others get nothing.
The herpes simplex virus can however still spread even when no sores are visible or apparent.
